How To Add Spacing Between Elements, Columns & Sections (Padding & Margin)

To add spacing around your elements/columns/section all you need to do is adjust the padding/ margin. To explain these two things simply:

• Padding = Space within the element/column/section
• Margin =  Space outside of the element/column/section

To increase the amount of space around your element all you need to do is increase the padding or margin value. This may be by 10px or it could be by 50px, it all just depends on the look you are trying to achieve. For example in your section you may want to set 50px vertical padding on your section but only 15px vertical padding on your countdown timer.

To reduce the amount of space, all you need to do is decrease the padding or margin value. 

To adjust these values on a column/ section all you need to do is:

1. Open the page editor on the page you wish to edit.
2. Click the column / section you wish to adjust the spacing on. 
3. The right hand preferences draw will then open, where you will see a section called ‘Advanced Settings’. Within this area there is a place to adjust the padding and a place to adjust the margin. 

4. To adjust the top and bottom padding/ margin equally all you need to do is adjust the vertical value. To adjust the left and right padding/ margin equally all you need to do is adjust the horizontal value. If you wish to set different values on each side all you need to do is tick the ‘Individual Padding’ or ‘Individual Margin’ boxes above each setting - this will then show you all 4 side values which you can then adjust. 

To adjust these values on an element:

2. Click the element you wish to adjust the spacing on. 
3. The right hand preferences draw will then open, and you need to click the ‘Advanced Settings’ button which is the icon in the top right hand corner of the draw next to the close ‘X’ button. 

4. Within this area there is a place to adjust the padding and a place to adjust the margin. 

5. To adjust the top and bottom padding/ margin equally all you need to do is adjust the vertical value. To adjust the left and right padding/ margin equally all you need to do is adjust the horizontal value.
