Dollar handles are a visual way to present suggested donation amounts on your campaign page. They help guide supporters towards common giving levels and can be enhanced with images and descriptions to demonstrate the impact of each gift.
You can also link your page's dollar handles to the donation form so that any changes you make are automatically kept in sync.
What Can You Customise?
For each dollar handle, you can:
- Set the suggested donation amount.
- Upload an image or media asset.
- Remove the image entirely (if preferred).
- Add supporting text or impact messaging (where applicable).
- Link the dollar handles to your donation form.
How to Edit Dollar Handles
- Open your campaign page in the editor.
- Select the Dollar Handles element.
- Edit the donation amounts as required.
- (Optional) Upload or replace an image for each donation amount.
- Save your changes.
You can also choose not to display images if you prefer a simpler design.
Linking Dollar Handles to the Donation Form
You can link the dollar handles displayed on your page to the donation form.
When linked:
- Any changes made to the donation amounts on the page are automatically reflected in the donation form.
- You only need to update the donation amounts once.
- Your suggested giving levels remain consistent across the page.
For example, if you update:
- $50 → $75
- $100 → $150
the linked donation form will automatically display the new amounts.
Unlinking Dollar Handles
If you want the page and donation form to display different suggested amounts, you can unlink them.
When unlinked:
- Changes made to the page's dollar handles will not update the donation form.
- Each set of donation amounts can be managed independently.
This is useful if you want to present one set of suggested amounts on the page while offering different options within the donation form.
Example
Linked
Your page displays:
- $50
- $100
- $250
You change the first amount to $75.
Because the dollar handles are linked, the donation form also updates to:
- $75
- $100
- $250
Unlinked
You make the same change on the page.
This time, the donation form continues to display its original amounts because the link has been removed.
Best Practices
- Link your dollar handles if you want a consistent donation experience throughout your campaign.
- Use compelling images and impact statements to help donors understand what each gift will achieve.
- If your campaign doesn't require imagery, you can leave the dollar handles text-only for a cleaner, more minimal design.
Tip
Keeping your page and donation form linked makes ongoing campaign management much easier. Update your suggested donation amounts once, and they'll automatically stay consistent across your campaign.
